Regulations

Working with Professionals

You will have the assurance of dealing with an insurance broker that takes its professional responsibilities seriously.

Our quality management system has met the standards of ISO9001:2008 continuously since 1995 and in 2002 we achieved the Investor In People (IIP) award which recognises the value we place on ensuring our people are properly trained and competent for their job. Our IIP accreditation was confirmed following reassessment in 2005 and 2008.

We are members of the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) and founder members of the Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB).

Client Terms of Business

The document below explains the basic terms and conditions that determine how we act on our clients behalf. It covers where fees and charges may be made for the provision of our services. These are never excessive or unjustified.

Complaints

We do try hard to maintain the highest possible standards and welcome your feedback as it can often help us to improve the quality of our service. However, in the event that our service fails to meet your expectations, we have a formal complaints procedure.

How to make a complaint

You can notify us by telephone, face-to-face or in writing including fax and email (contact details are below). Please address it to Mr Alan Boswell, Managing Director.

Financial Ombudsman Service

If you are dissatisfied with the treatment of your complaint you may be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Clients are protected by this scheme which provides for the funding of losses that come about as a result of the firm's inability to meet its liabilities.

We are a financially robust company with Professional Indemnity Insurance well in excess of the minimum requirements of the Financial Services Authority. Consequently, we think this is highly unlikely to occur but if it did you can be secure in the knowledge that the scheme would compensate legitimate claimants for:

  • The first £2,000 in full and, where appropriate,
  • 90% of the amount in excess of £2,000; or
  • 100% in case of compulsory classes of insurance

More information can be found on the FSCS website www.fscs.org.uk or the Financial Services Authority (FSA) website www.fsa.gov.uk/consumer/.
